what have you tried recently that you havent had in ages? ive had eccles cakes, peanut butter cups and malt loaf, wow, all yummy! shows hubby away so i can eat what i want when i want without considering him, hes far too fussy! ive been getting really fed up eating recently, bored with the same old stuff. cant wait to go back to the same old recipes, not!
As a kid the only way I liked lettuce was with vinegar and sugar.
Yesterday after 40 odd years I treated myself, Cos lettuce ice cold from the fridge sprinkled with caster sugar & malt vinegar, WOW! did that take me back to my old dads allotment where he grew those lettuces.& me spending half the afternoon washing the dirt off of them, ahhhh!!
yes, eccles cakes were amazing, i ate one then ate the other 3 in one go the next day. hubby hates currants so a bonus and no guilt!
Mmm, sorrel, how, in soup or salad? what does it taste like? i imagine it to be like watercress. i love lemon curd, oooh, havent had lemon curd tarts in years!
sometimes it can just take something simple, we had fish and homemade sweet potato chips the other day with bread and butter and tartare sauce, lovely!
surely if you count sheep then you will have lamb chops and mint sauce on your mind, i would!
oysters, mmm oysters rockerfella now thats something ive not had in ages, its fab!
But they are getting smaller by the decade and one day no doubt, will be the size of a normal biscuit which defeats the point of being called wagonwheels.
Hmmm
""What have you tried recently that you havent had in ages?"
Am I the only one who thinks that this question might have got some more interesting answers if it had been posted in 'Body & Soul' ;-)
I hope, Nextqueen, that you had those Eccles cakes warm. (They're about a zillion times better when you warm them up).
I can't think of much that I've 'come back to' recently but your post has reminded me that I really must buy some haggis. (I love it but I hardly ever seem to buy it).
