Very enar the beginning, there was a scen with a couple dancing in a nightclub. Does anyone know the name and artist of the song that was playing, it was a female and sounded a bit like Julee Cruise.

You're right, it was Julee Cruise. The song was "Rockin' Back Inside My Heart" off her "Floating Into The Night" CD.
