Weedkiller.

I don't seem to be able to find any sodium chlorate around these days to use as a basic weedkiller and think this may be due to the state thinking I'm going to make a bomb with it.
Is it still available and where ??

LOL it was banned but look for substitutes like glyphosate.

A glyphosate weedkiller is excellent, but will only work through foliage, killing what it touches, but does not stop new weeds germinating. Sodium Chlorate was a residual weedkiller(ie stays in ground) and stopped germination for a year or so. Try this http://www.weedkiller...s.php?hdnCategoryID=1

That's so strange as I've just dumped at the tip two tins of sodium chlorate (you can still buy it in France) as the tins were rusted and the insides coming out! I don't like using the stuff (my late husband did as it's cheap) as it isn't easy to dissolve down for spraying. I use pathclear which puts up a barrier for the full season.

I've yet to find a commercial product that keeps a path clear for the whole summer. I see packs that claim to though.

You could try buying it directly from a chemical suppliers, they would probably supply it in 25kg bags and you could then decide what strength to dilute it yourself.
