can you even claim anything? I doubt it
why are you signing on weekly? can't it be reduced to fortnightly (the norm) to save petrol
When I had to claim CBJSA for a short period after being made redundant I was reluctant to turn up in by brand new car and I decided to make the 5 mile round trip on foot- and actually enjoyed the walk. But I was amazed at how many of those signing on used taxis and did wonder whether some of them were having travel costs paid.
Anyway, I once had to sign on in on a different week (I think owing to a bank holiday) and I recall being told I could claim my bus fares provided I produced receipts- I chose to walk instead though
34 mile walk, a bit much dont you think?
is that your nearest jobcentre? and why do you have to sign weekly?
and how much petrol money do your parents want?
Ha, piggynose- that wasn't really the point I was trying to make. I was pointing out that although I walked quite a few people went by taxi so maybe travel costs were paid in some cases, and I was offered the chance to reclaim bus fare when I had to sign-on on a different week once.
