This video horrified me! I know that, had I been there, I would have run over to the man, tried to stem the blood loss and tried to calm him as best I could until help arrived. There is no way I could have stood there staring and not acted to help! I have been at the scene of two extremely serious emergencies, one a very bloody one, and both times I did mouth to mouth resuscitation / CPR on the victims, while others, including my ex-husband, just stood there panicking. Sadly all help was too late for both of these people, but at least I and another person did try to help. I do think people here would be more willing to help. Just think of some of the terrorist bombings we have had here in the past and there have always been passers-by who have come to help the victims. I do know that fear of reprisal may also have come into play during that dreadful scene, but I could not have left that poor man like that.
