Gran Canaria - recommendations?

I'm off to Gran Canaria (Puerto Rico) soon, any recommendations for places to go/eat/drink/ Any advice for a family with a 7 & 9 year old would be greatly appreciated!

Puerto Rico is a custom-built tourist resort with all manner of eating and drinking places [unless you're looking for Spanish food].  The choice is enormous but you may be just as happy lying on the beach or by the pool-side especially with young kids.
Make sure you have at least one trip exploring the interior of the island.....it's absolutely beautiful.
Have a great time but watch out for the timeshare touts.

you should make a stop at palmitos park its really great.
