Can you identify this please?

I came across this motor? recently I dont know what it is for, it has Dyson written on the casing but I think it must be a different Dyson than the vaccume cleaner company, I really have no idea. I picked it up at a car boot sale very cheap hoping to sell it on.

Dyson produced two models of washing machine (CR01 and CR02) for a few years in the early 2000s but ceased production when the range proved unprofitable.
