I am about to search the web to get a quote for my house and contents insurance, they ask if I have made any claims in the last few years, I cannot remember any, but if I don't mention them I could get penalised later if the insurance company find out about any, any suggestions of how I could find out any claims made that I have forgotten?
Thanks for the answer shock, I know if information about claims is not given, i am not covered, but what happens if I cannot remember any? I know that the insurance companies do not need a 'get out' clause, and I want to be honest with them, but don't want any problems later on if I have to claim.
Thankyou JMR27, I know they will be able to tell me about the last year that I have been with them, but what about before then, I am getting almost parnoid about this after the program I watched this morning (Dont Get Done, Get Dom - where a couple are no longer covered by their insurance because the had three claims that had not be disclosed)
Previous insurers can tell you ... check with them all and declare everything. Non disclosure is a serious issue which you can then avoid. If you are unsure on dates / amounts etc, then declare this uncertainty too - in writing.
