If England legalised prostitution like some other countries , do you think they could raise a lot of money?Taking into consideration the money saved on policing it at the present wouldnt it seem on paper to be a good idea?

As the law currently stands, it's not illegal to provide sexual services for gain, or to use such services. It's only illegal to 'solicit' or to 'kerb crawl'. (i.e. it's NOT illegal to 'do it' but it IS illegal to 'advertise it' or to 'ask for it').
That suggests that the law regards prostitution as a 'public order' issue, rather than as a moral one (or a 'public protection' one). If a way around those 'public order' problems could be found, it seems logical that consenting adults should be allowed to do what they want to without interference from the state.
