As to the black fish I've got a goldie in the pond about 6" which was bred in the pond and has never bothered changing colour but 17 that size that haven't changed seems unusuall, as woofgang says check with the guy who sold them to find out just what they are
My pond goldfish produced a lot of black baby fish after having a bit of business. They first turned stripey before eventually going all gold.
Feeding in Summer is not necessary, there are lots of insects landing on the surface of the pond that they gobble up. Also, any wasps or bluebottles that I swat in the house I put in the pond and the fish eat them, though only the biggest fish can manage the hornets that I terminate.
