Not sure which category this should be in, but is there any maximum age for taking grade exams in singing? Do you have to sing pieces set by the exam board?

Hi, I did piano grade exams and yes, you would have to select peices from a list. The way it worked with piano was, there were 3 categories with 3 choices in each and you select 1 from each category (or you can select from a few other peices with are published separately) which gives you a broad display of your ability in different types of music. With the piano you also had to do scales and aural (which was like practical musical theory - sighreading, answering questions about a peice etc etc) this should all be pretty similar for singing.

Regarding age limits, I doubt it very much - you just have to be entered into the exam, and obviously have done the practice beforehand! good luck!
