How do you send the same email to several recipients without their names and/or addresses appearing in the 'copies to' bar please?

When you go to input the recipient's name, right click to see a drop down menu which includes "bcc" which stands for "Blind courtesy copy". you can input recpients in there and their names will not appear in the E-mail

Thanks Ro, hmmm, I should have picked up on that a long time ago!
The other "trick" is you set up a contact in your address book called "undisclosed recipients" (or similar) with your own email address as the address for it, then put that contact in the main TO field on the email and all other addresses in the BCC field.
Being pedantic I know, but the cc in cc and bcc actually stands for carbon copy - a throwback to the typewriter days.

Chuck, If I have to enter all the addresses in bcc anyway, what is the advantage of this? Do you mean that all the addresses remain embeded in the 'undisclosed recipients' for repeated use?
You have to enter at least one address in the TO field, so unless you want to disclose one address to everyone the mail is sent to it's best practice to put your own address in the TO field. the problem with this is it will look a little strange when people receive an email that looks like it's not addressed to them. to get round this if you create the contact on your address book named undisclosed recipients with your email address then when people receive the email they can straight away see it's been sent to undisclosed recipients.

Thanks. So I still have to enter all the recipient's address' individually into bcc ? I'm wondering if there is some way to place a bundle in there all at once.
Create a distribution list then put that in the BCC section......
