please can someone explain and show how fractions of decimal betting odds are calulated, for example, if i had an eachway accumulator where each selection resulted in a placing result, what would the following final 7 bet accumulated betting odds be?

3.0 @1/5th odds
2.1 @ 1/4 odds
3.5 @ 1/4 odds
10.0 @1/5th odds
1.5 @ 1/5th odds
2.25 @ 1/4 odds

3.0 x 1/5 = 0.6 x 1 = 0.60 + 1 = 1.60
2.1 x 1/4 = 0.525 x 1.6 = 0.84 + 1.6 = 2.44
3.5 x 1/4 = 0.875 x 2.44 = 2.135 + 2.44 = 4.575
10 x 1/5 = 2 x 4.575 = 9.15 + 4.575 = 13.725
1.5 x 1/5 = 0.3 x 13.725 = 4.1175 + 13.725 = 17.8425
2.25 x 1/4 = 0.5625 x 17.8425 = 10.036 + 17.8425 = 27.8785
so if there was a 7th horse 27.88 would be going on for each �1 original stake.
PS are you in France as that's the only place I know where odds are in decimal?

The site I recommended above uses British fractional odds, so you'll need to convert the decimal figures to fractions.
By the way, decimal odds in Europe represent the return...ie what the bookie will pay you if you win including your returned stake. For example, 3.00 represents British fractional odds of 2/1...the bookie gives you 2 of his plus your own 1 back = 3. So, 10.00 = 9/1...his 9 plus your 1; 1.5 = 1/2...his 1 plus your 2 (usually called '2 to 1 on'.)
Decimal odds as used in the USA represent only the profit element, so 3.00 represents 3/1; 10.0 = 10/1 and 1.5 represents 6/4.
Decimal odds are easier for accumulators, but you really need fractions for each-way quarters/fifths.
Basically, you now have an accumulator of:
3.0 = 2/1 -> 2/5 (1.4)
2.1=11/10 -> 11/40 (1.275)
3.5=5/2 -> 5/8 (1.625)
10.0=9/1 -> 9/5 (2.8)
1.5=1/2 ->1/10 (1.1) (each-way on a 1/2 shot?!)
2.25=5/4 -> 5/16 (1.31)
So, for your quid you'd get back �11.73...at least I hope so, I did work in a bookies!
