Ok, I'll go first.

Just after 9/11 we were trying to raise money for the families of firefighters killed during the atrocities and somebody somewhere came up with the idea of firefighters doing a "Full Monty" type stage show.

Nine of us volunteered and three days later we met up with our choreographers to begin learning our steps.

Over the next three weeks we had eight rehearsals and then we were "ready" to perform.

We'd appeared in four local papers, two different TV channels and also on local radio... This was building up to be a big event...

The night arrived and we were wondering if this was going to be a flop..

Me and my mate turned up at 7:30pm and found more than thirty women queueing up, and when we got inside the place was almost full to the rafters!!!

We were due to appear on stage at 10pm and two well known local DJs (females) were on stage winding the crowd up for an hour before we went on.

Then our time came... As we went on stage the sound reached fever pitch... Imagine 1000 women screaming and you still can't get the full effect... It was absolutely deafening!!!

That night was without doubt the most exciting... biggest buzz I've ever had in my life...

gazza - that was a wonderful thing to do - and very courageous. I bet you lived on pure adrenalin for weeks afterwards!!

Sure did Cetti!!!
ive seen that in a film before, except the men worked in sheffield............billy elliot ;-)
I did the same thing myself we used to do a ' turn' every time we had a leaving do for someone and one time we decided to do a full monty as the film had just come out we never rehearsed but did it in our own haphazard way it was brilliant and such an adrenilin rush we decided to do it at another do a few years later . Unfortunately we decided to use two songs to dance to and of course by the chorus in the first song we had shed the maximum ammount of clothes we could as our wives and friends were watching so it was a case of I'm a plonker get me out of here !! but it was still a great laugh.
