Leather jacket
8 Answers
I recently took delivery of a leather jacket but the collar is very creased can anyone suggest a way of removing them without damaging it, would steaming it do any harm?

A creased or crinkled appearance on part of a leather garment can be because the maker has used inferior, thin 'belly leather'. Typically, they wouldn't use it on a very visible part (ie, the front or back panels), but smaller areas such as collar and sleeves are fair game. I imagine they can save quite a lot of manufacturing costs over thousands of jackets in this way.

You're right ClareA what I was describing would only work properly if the leather was of high quality in the first place like something made by Aero Leathers, Eastman leathers and the like. I agree with Hopkirk aswell if it's new send it back rather than wetting it because if you do and it doesn't work they may not take it back.
