Hello all

I have a numb pain in the left side of my lower back.
But the real problem is at night when I get woken up by a pain in the ball of my foot and to a lesser degree in my calf, quite a sharp pain I have to get up to get rid of it, still have it now a little so it is getting worse.

I can walk around OK and still carry things etc what could it be?

Pressure on a nerve somewhere I would think, like sciatica. But see a GP if it doesn't ease off. Don't carry anything heavy whilst you have this.
That's what I was thinking Lofty ... http://www.nhs.uk/Con...a/Pages/Symptoms.aspx
Yes, I would go with the above two.
