agree with Dot. From experience I'd say write down what you know, and if you've any elderly relatives (aunts etc) dro them a nice letter asking if they have any info that would help. My aunt gave me some names, a few pics and an old diary which was really useful as it had lots of birthdays and anniversaries in it.
you can get a free trial of ancestry for 2 weeks, and there's also the BDM site (births, deaths, marriages) which is free (and fairly easy) to use.
Have a go, but don't be put off if it becomes a struggle. We've all asked for help and you'll get plenty on here
