Will someone please buy this donkey....

My son was browsing on a 'for sale' site yesterday, similar to e-bay but not. He came across an advert - "Donkey for sale, due to lack of grass. Please hurry".
There was a photo of said donkey - a gorgeous but sad white jack donkey stood forlornly on concrete with just the smidgeon of a patch of grass near a fence.
I welled up. I wanted to buy him but knew I couldn't. This was placed over a week ago - and he's still for sale :-(
My unfeeling son however was in hysterics at the reason for sale - 'lack of grass'. Some people.

I've had a very quick look & there's loads of donkeys still on there, but I can't see that particular one from skegness. Maybe he's found a home? I hope so - but if you are concerned dolly, log on that site & look through all of them if you have time. He's a really small white jack donkey photographed on what looks like a concrete car park :-(
To try and help Dolly, I have gone on there and searched more thoroughly - it appears as though Alby has gone from the site. Hopefully he's either been rescued, sold or found a good home with lots of grass?
Maybe my son has actually bought him? I did tell him off for laughing & his girlfriend (did I mention their baby is due TODAY???!!!!) is very emotional at the moment - maybe we made him feel guilty.

I agree with you about them looking sad, Sal. I was in Bridlington recently and watched three donkeys, tethered together, for a while.
They were giving rides to children and no doubt the kids were enjoying it, but it just looked so sad to me. I mentioned it to my husband, who proceeded to tell me how lucky these donkeys were, when compared to those in Ethiopia (he worked there at one time). Ended up with me having to fight back tears. :o(
