..in every day life.
I was in California,it was (unsurprisingly)a hot sunny day.I was in my car stopped at traffic lightsI looked to my left and caught this sight....a female maybe mid-late twenty working on a telephone junction box.Deeply suntanned, straw blond hair, skimpy pink tank top, shorts (very) ,chunky socks and 'rigger'boots. It was a hot day her shoulders glistened with persiration and a dark line on her tanktop of perspiration ran down her spine. The image was topped off with a white 'Pacific Bell Telephone' hard hat.She was totally unaware of me as she went about her work. The traffic lights changed and I went about the rest of my life...what an image and that was 37 years ago.

everytime i see loftylotties avatar, i imagine us in the library and her whispering at me to 'shush' whilst gently thumbing through my hardback, usually its michael moorcock or a cummings.
librarians like to do it quietly, but archivists can make it last longer.
