Are these still sold a lot? My mum had one on the other day, which was hanging down below her skirt When i mentioned it to her she informed me it was because the elastic had gone because it was one i'd had when i was about 14 (23 years ago!) she still had it cause she couldn't find one in the shops that was the right length for her (knee length on a 5 foot person)

Also the local market is bound to sell them. Look for the stall that sells huge knickers and nighties.
Thanks 4get, always wondered that and not thought to look it up.
Ha, ha. "Charlie's Dead". Brought back lots of memories. And if a bra strap showed back in them days it was thought cheap and tarty or very slovenly at the least. Now it would seem to be fashionable.

Actually,I have a couple of waist slips in my undie drawer somewhere. God knows why. The only skirt I ever where is a tatty denim one when it's hot and in the house or garden only. I have a couple of evening skirts in my wardrobe that haven't seen the light of day for many, many years.

I obviously need a clear out. I don't intend to wear a skirt ever again (or a dress (except for a cheescloth sundress, again for garden/house use in hot weather).
Even my Mum never wore a skirt for years - only trousers, until she died at 89!! Bless her. She always looked immaculate and very feminine and up to date.
http://www.damart.co.uk have various lengths
Look on eBay, bednobs - I sold four in good condition a few weeks back (only sold them because they don't fit me any more).
Try local markets. I saw some yesterday when buying tights.
