This month, 'King Jim' has been teasing us with challenge words suggested by his telling of his early life in the East End.
Last week's episode hardly finished on a drumbeat of a cliffhanger but hopefully we'll get more excitement this weekend when players rush to get bonus points from the moment the shrubbery gates open.

Talking of 'The Shrubbery', where was everyone last Friday? There weren't even enough people to scare away the squirrels before they attacked my nuts! I wonder then, will there be enough this weekend to scare away the rioters? I was in two minds about opening the shrubbery this evening. Do you think we can police it amongst ourselves? Cliffyg, Evsajo and Pauline could provide the dogs, Strix could muster up some horses, and Aquagility could provide the water for the water-cannons, though where the cannons will come from I'm not sure?

Ackchurly, providing the (lack of) rioting permits, 'King Jim' will be unavailable at launchtime tomorrow morning. Consequently his introduction will be posted in Q&P by myself at 8:45am, followed by 'King Jim's 4 challenge words at 9:00. Just guess his chosen link-words (4 to 8 letters long) as soon as possible thereafter. The game remains open until 7pm Sunday, at which point I shall announce the scores.

Don't forget our sister game, the KM Links based on the 'Telegraph' GK Crosswords (Saturday & Monday) compiled by Kate Mepham. That game is organised and scored by Seekeerz from Oz. That game usually starts at 7am, but there is no rush because there are no time-sensitive bonus points in that game.

Enjoy your weekend of guessing links.
The shrubbery is now open for gossip, scheming and merriment.
Let the party commence.

Evening all...I am a bit late as we had a friend over for tea. He has only just gone.
I reckon the shrubbery gang would be a match for any mob! :-)
Hi Pauline (and Gen2 if you're still there). I'm popping in and out of the shrubbery this evening (via the french window - is there one?) between watching the golf from USA.
Evenin' all:)

I'm determined to score more than Mr A this month, but I'm not holding my breath!!
Evening all, thought everyone had disappeared.
Its quiet tonight where's Jan, Kay will be tied up with the family, no Strix?!!
Good evening all.....also watching the golf between diving in and out (or should it be out and in?).

Pauline, I hope the friend you had for tea tasted nice ;-))
Who do you fancy as winner of the PGA, Twix? It would be good to make it a clean sweep of Europeans.....
Hi everyone....guess what...the twins are going home on Sunday! They are 10+ weeks old now and are doing well. It has been lots of ups and downs, but here's to their future! :-))
That is REALLY good news, Pauline!
Great news Pauline, I bet your longing to have a cuddle!!
I'll raise a glass to that good news Pauline xxx
Glad to hear the good news Pauline.

Tearinghair, although obviously I would like to see another European victory somehow I don't think it will happen this time (although I could be wrong).
I just can't wait for my first cuddle Laney...I might be good and let them settle in together...then Monday here I come!
Just been watching the news...unbelievable these rioters, and who they all are! Many walks of life by looks of it!
Great news about the twins. Just be careful not to squash them, Pauline!
I'm off for an early night, having been up to that ghastly place, London, today to see my wretched Quack. Came back by train in the rush hour, so exhausted.
Goodnight, all.
I will try my best Aqa!
Hope you got on ok with the quack. :-)
I wouldn't mind an each way bet on Ross Fisher, Twix....but then I never won any money on the Grand National when I used to have an annual bet on that, so I haven't got a great track record for forecasting results!
Just like my record for guessing the links eh? :-)
You and me both....it must be all of 7 weeks since I scored a point on MM.
I think I think differently to what people think I might think. So I think that's why.. :-)
