I have a PC running on Windows 7 and Fire-fox 6 (I think that is the latest one). My mouse has a scroll wheely thingy on it and it isn't working today. I didn't realise how often I use it until it wasn't working.
I checked my mouse settings in my control panel and my settings in the tool/options on Fire-fox and they are fine. Could this be a FF glitch? Or is Mickey the mouse dying on me?
FF6 is the most up-to-date; although within a few months we will have No7.
Do as suggested by Chuck and if the mouse is still a bit rattish then think about buying a new animal. Amazon has dozens of them. Personally I don't think one needs to spend anything over a tenner at the most.
I currently have a cat between me and they keyboard and this leads to further problems. The new FF version updated yesterday so I just assumed that it was what was causing mousey problems. I am bound to have a spare mouse somewhere - I will go and search for one. :-)
I was advised to open the mouse and clean out all the gunge that had accumulated around the wheels etc - I got a huge amount of gunk out and am still using the mouse - it's an old type btw
time warp rsvp! sorry, just thought it may help - I had an all singing all dancing mouse that failed to deliver and the advice I got from AB saved the day - I got the old one out, followed the advice and am mousing away as we speak!
rsvp....I can hear your mouse squeaking as we talk. Anyway there is the old saying..."If it ain't broke don't fix it"
Incidentally, I notice that you are a new member to AB. Congratulations on your joining a great site. There is a lot of humour to be found here and serious answers are given to questions. Hope to meet-up again.
I'm sorry that I didn't back to squeak to you gents earlier - had to have my cat-nap.
It is one of the new mice with no ball(s) and a red light on its bottom. I do voluntary work in our local Oxfam bookshop and they have one with the ball thing - it is amazing how much dust gets inside one of those things. Great fun cleaning it :-)
