Should have added...a good,hard stare at my completed grid lead me to the 'person'. Once I had him, I knew what 'destination' I was looking for and found it fairly quickly.
I realised after posting that I'm better at crosswords than I am at dancing terminology - maybe I should have referred to an old,traditional, often stately dance!
Yes,waltzing your way towards the solution - and I think you should maybe waltz around the centre of the grid (one part is 7 letters long, the other is 9)
Thanks. I had to resort to Chambers to find this word. It still took a bit of searching but it has been worth it. Got the theme from the hint and the shaded squares and a name. Clever crossword and I learnt some new words to boot!!!
Any help out there? Have highlighted the character and destination and have the probable real name. Have completed the grid bar 2 answers which I just can't fathom:
1d = c-o-
11a = --nt
