Hi,

Does anybody know if there are any rules and regulations regarding CCTV usage in the workplace?? I work in a security control room and we have a camera at the back of the room, constantly recording what we do... It's not normally an issue but yesterday, one member of staff got a warning (for something very minor) as a direct result in the manager searching back on the CCTV!!!

TIA

It seems excessive since you cannot really commit a crime (handling cash or managing vulnerable people)nor put anyones life in danger.

You should have access to a CCTV policy which should describe the reasons for the constant monitoring and the situations in which it would be used.

However when all is said and done I think they are alowed to use the camera.
