Oh Friday...
It doesn't - but if you put it in washing up liquid it would suddenly learn it wasn't - cf Erle Stanley Gardenr, "The Case of the Drowning Duck"

As there are no ducks on line we dont know the answer to this. How do we know the duck even understands the word watertight? I expect he would laugh at this question. Its like asking a human how do we know that skin holds our insides in.
