Hello good people. I'm going to rig up a dynamo on a bench to be driven by my drill. I was going to take the pulley off of the dynamo and put the shaft straight into my drill chuck but I'm thinking that as the drill reaches 2500 rpm and I believe the pulley on the car (I'm talking vintage car) that drives the dynamo is bigger so that won't work so I need to use the correct sized pulley to simulate the correct speeds seen in a car..

Any ideas ?

If you want to double the speed on the generator to 5000rpm you need a pulley on the drill which has twice the diameter of the one on the generator. I wouldn't have thought many vintage cars ran at >5000rpm for very long.
