4 KENDAL

2 Skip sea ?
SKIPTON?
Ignore that more likely to be

SMALLFIELD?
Question Author
Thanks for help. Definitely Skipton. Had thought of Elgin but not sure where the wood or whiskey come in. Not sure about Kendal or Smallfield though.
3 Elgin was the first name I thought of. I can see the connection with whisky but not wood
Question Author
Quinie. Where is the connection with whiskEy? Note the spelling!
3 Is it definitely wood? There is a connection with wool (Johnston's Cashmere)
Question Author
Definitely wood. The spelling of whiskey is the Irish way although that may be a red herring. Also it says "Not marbles" which makes me doubt Elgin.
Yes, I think I'm on the wrong track
4 Kendal (mint cake)
Question Author
Thanks boxtops & bertie button. I was a bit dubious about Kendal but I am starting to warm to the idea!
