i would say that because every computer needs a unique ip address and since there are vastly more computers than available ip addresses, tcp/ip has a disadvantage.

That's 2 protocols. Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol.

Disadvantages of TCP :
Slow.
It stings when put on grazes (sorry....)

Disadvantages of IP :
Original v4 hasn't scaled well. Hence IPv6.
Not necessarily very secure (see Spoofing)
