Amazon Kindle wi fi connection
11 Answers
My new wi fi kindle keyboard is on its way. I am now wondering if I should have got the 3g version and have been reading that there can be connection problems with the BT Home Hub. Before I get it out of its box, does anyone have a home hub, did they have problems connecting. I am not an expert on the Home Hub and would not want to mess about with it. If I ring BT they will say it is Amazon's problem. Shall I see if I can get an exchange for the 3g version if it is going to be a problem connecting.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes, friend of mine was on a tour of the Panama Canal, so while there he bought a book about it via 3G. Mind you, if he'd waited a couple of hours he could have used the free wifi on his cruise ship.
Personally, I doubt I'd ever use it, because (a) a wifi connection is never far away, and (b) I find it much easier to browse and purchase from Amazon on a PC.
The only time I wished I had 3G was when I was on the beach, got to the end of a book, and was offered the chance to buy the next in the series. But even then, a 50 metre stroll put me in range of the free wifi of one of the beach bars.

...and don't forget to check out Project Gutenberg, which also has loads of free (out of copyright) books.
