It used to cost £10 a month to have the record facility but it is free now - think you might have to get a different box/satellite dish to be able to record (I can record two channels and watch something that is taped). Pretty sure it is a Sky+ dish/box that you need (our old one died so we had to get a new one anyway).
We bought a Humax Personal Video Recorder PVR-9300T direct from the company at a very reasonable price.it will record a programme you really enjoy and play it back zipping through adverts at 16 times the speed.. It stores on a hard disc so no more to pay. The quality of the picture is very good.
I'm confused now. Do I need to buy a sky digibox? Iam told they cost about £105 Thats the cost of the box and installation. However, someone told me they would get me a box. I dont know what to do for the best.
Sorry Bobbie, not sure about all the details - all I know is that we have one and it works. There are things available too, but don't much about them either. Really sorry for being such a dim wit about it all (we've got a new tv that does stuff, but have no idea what).
Thanks for all the answers. Sometimes there's a SKY van down town on saturdays, so I will speak to the guy there. At some stage, it was free if you joined SKY, but for someone already with them there was a charge. I keep hoping things will change. It does not help that I am as thick as two short planks either!
I always record ITV programmes on my freeview box, like Doc Martin and Downton Abbey, and watch them another time when I can fast forward and skip the annoying adverts. I know they have to be there but I don't have to watch them.
