I have seen two tv brackets which are similar but have varying points. I wondered if anyone knew about brackets and could offer there reccomendation, of thoughts.

The first one holds tv's and much wide variations so if I upgrade and go HUGE it will fit but it looks cheaper possibly

At the end of the day I don't want it to fall down but I don't know which looks more stable.

I also don't know how this should be attached to the ceiling, a chippy has put some wood between two joists but I don't know for sure he knows what he is doing.

Well he should do. I expect he has fitted a 'noggin' (is in under plaster ceiling or on top?)

This holding a portable TV?

^ Any clues about what info is needed here?

as i don't have ceilings at the mo the noggin it fitted between the joists between the two floors (ceiling below and floor above) I assume they with then put the ceiling up as normal noting the noggin location and then after screw to it from below to install bracket. The bracket will be for 42-50" LCD possibly max 30kg but bracket can hold 60-75kg but can noggin and screws hold that weight?
I wouldn't trust putting the weight of a bracket and the TV on a noggin, screwing directly to the rafters/beams, through the plasterboard, would be preferable.
For goodness sake .. Yes.

Rafters .. Beams?

Noggin between floor joists will be fine. Screw in too if you want extra POM.
