Hi Folks, Just something I was thinking about, I worked for a private company

for about 24 and when disclosure scotland came into force the company done a fresh disclousure every three years(which was their policy) I now work with another company,another disclousre done about 4years ago and was wondering, is there a law or something to do another check? How often should the companys make a check? Hope this makes sense, some of the staff have worked there about 10yrs etc and only had the one check?

In England & Wales, only people engaging staff (or volunteers) within 66 specified areas of work have any right to obtain CRB checks on their staff. (Unlike Scotland and Northern Ireland, 'basic' level checks - showing only non-spent convictions- aren't offered by the CRB). So the vast majority of employers in England and Wales are legally barred from checking the criminal records of their staff.
