Now that many of us drive German cars, use German kitchen appliances, vacuum machines, etc., is it not time to take up German as a first language?

I've got a German keyboard anyway .It helps with emailing the rellies .

I had a Nissan but that didn't make me want to learn Japanese - I don't see the logic of this question.

Does that count?
It might be a better idea to encourage English people at the lower end of the social scale to speak, write and spell their own mother tongue correctly, maybe starting with BBC continuity announcers and weather presenters.
