/// Perhaps by highlighting the fact that she's gay gives a little bit of balance against the right wingers who like to trot out the usual "gays = AIDS" and "why are gay men so camp" and "gays are ruining the traditional family" and "gays are morally bankrupt" etc etc. ///
Oh, so all 'Right-Wingers, are homophobic eh? So I presume by that logic you must think that all 'Left-Wingers must be pro-Gay.
/// Good luck to her. And I don't even care she's a Tory. As long as her visibility serves as a beacon to young gay women - all the better, ///
That's so big of you, but wait a moment, a little bit of a contradiction here.
Since she is a Tory and Tories are Right-Wingers, is she also Homophobic, even though she is a Lesbian?
Now which is it to be SP?

This is specifically addressing the right-wingers who make those arguments. It fairly obviously excludes right-wingers who don't.
In the cases where left-wing politicians have some bigotries/comparable flaws and prejudices (and many do), then it's typically not directed at gays, it's usually something else. I'm sure you could dig up a few examples of homophobic left-wing politicians but I don't think you could describe them as a reoccurring faction like you can with right wing politics.

If 'Left-Wingers' are so caring to all persons, why are they so insultingly so hateful towards anyone (especially 'Right-Wingers) who dares to oppose them, or dares to raise certain issues, or read a different newspaper to those recommended by them?
Why can't 'Left Wingers' concede that others may have different views from them, without always trying to silence them by issuing out untruths and accusations.
There are many examples in almost every post, 'Racist' 'Homophobic' 'Daily Wail readers' etc, etc.
