These programmes are repeats I think. But I always wonder why on earth they pack up and go, leaving broken hearts and broken families.

My daughter is on a 1 years work visa...that can be extended if they have had continuous work. She went from Ireland.

Could it be because this country is going down the pan?
My 25 year old daughter and her boyfriend have just spent a year in Perth, Australia on a year long work visa.
The city is young, clean, modern, has great public transport (free in the city centre), is right on the beach, and they both love it.
But they have to come back to the UK soon when their visa runs out and have to come back to this country where houses are overpriced, rents are high, benefit fraud and crime is rampant, city centre bus transport is dirty and unpleasant, and the weather is crap.
If they can go back at a later date they will, even though it will upset my wife.
If I was 30 years younger I would join them as I have had enough of this country.

The first Mr Craft and me were going to emigrate to Australia in the 1970's.......he had a job lined up with a house and car provided. My mother was upset at us going but understood the reasons why, his mother resorted to emotional blackmail, even to the extent of faking illness, to stop us going. Mr Craft caved in in the end.
As someone who is going through the visa process for NZ, I find the program a bit annoying. Don't these people realise they will be thousands of miles away? Some of those on the show seem to have a fleeting interest in emigrating and are not serious about it. That is why they are so easily persuaded from going.
And I agree with VHG...are country is going down the pan.
