i'm a woman and recently i've been sweating at night alot from head to toe i wake up and the bed clothes are soaked to why does this happen/and what can i do to prevent it or better still stop it? also it smells to much for first thing in the morning!! i don't sweat alot in the day
Was googling around there. There is a condition called Hyperhidrosis, related to extreme night sweats, you should take a look! At the opposite side to what I originally suggested,it can also be related hormonally to pregnancy!
Sorry sweatycow but youre never to "young" to start the menapause, sounds like it to me-hope im wrong! been there and nearly through the tunnel now, (so to speak.) go to your doctors and see what they have to say, good luck
I was exactly the same, but recently as I was so fed up with this problem I moved my bed so the headboard is right under the window and I have the small fanlight window open and so far it seems to help. I was a bit worried about getting a draught at first but I suppose that because my head is directly under the window the air seems to pass over me rather than straight at me. It seems to work better than a fan which I have also tried.
Also your body temperature rises by something like half a degree (which is a lot!) when you're pre-menstrual causing you sweaty and fitful sleeps in the week before your period.
I sometimes have night sweats and I too was worried but not so much any more now there's an explanation...
thanks to everyone whose answered my question i think i'll try moving my bed to by the window its got to be worth a try!! i'm starting to think early menapause though my mums started when she was in early thirties!! hope i'm not pregnant! will make appointment with doctors next week thanks again
Have you started taking medication? My antidepressants make me sweat at night, so it could be a side affect of a type of medication if you've just strted taking something different.
