I went to see the doc and had to do a urine sample, I had been to the gym just before and had been drinking lots of water, my urine was the colour of water, the results came back as clear, but could this have been because the urine was so diluted by the amount of water I had been drinking?

can you describe the pain, fruitsalad - what does it feel like? - one kidney or two?
I would think the reason you made an appointment in the first place is the important thing. Your urine is clear after testing.
No, drinking water might affect the specific gravity (denseness) at your urine, but they would have been looking for sugar, blood or protein which would not have been affected by your drinking.

DT its both sides and now its turned into more of a dull ache
so its not kidney stones - they tend to be in one and feel like cold steel in you....
a urine test is just one indicator! go back, and remember mid-flow samples are the best!
could be a little bit of infection - has the doc put you on anything like an antibiotic?

the doc felt around the kidneys and they felt a bit tender, obviously this is what I told her, she only suggested the urine sample, will go back though if there is no improvement in a couple of days
