Judging from the dearth of postings, others are also finding this less than a walkover - pretty much as foretold.
I'm still working on paragraph one of the preamble and an odd assortment of answers. Friday Night Club maybe, but probably next Friday.

I've posted mine off. I found a way of entering a "digit" which makes sense according to the wiki page on the subject. It doesn't really fit in with what other posters have said, but I haven't got this far and filled in my first carte blanche grid just to quit.
Archie, the preamble doesn't ask us to alter the orientation of the digit, so be careful about making it look like something else.
I think the up is nearly about to be given First non-submission for three years. I suspect that this one is only doable if you have actually heard of the ideal form :(
Don't give up just yet Philoctetes - after a fast grid fill it was a long visit to 'Much Staring at the Grid' (nearly a week long trip) before the clash appeared. Still haven't found the message, though there is something which might be one word of it, only it is so hidden that I cannot see how anyone would find it before having everything else.
Only got around to starting this yesterday- have the 10x15 grid and the 11-letter form, but can't work out what the clash refers to. Any hints welcome at [email protected]. Thanks!
