Read every day, get through about 4 books every two weeks. If I'm on holiday my Sony ebook reader goes as well.

I read most nights before bed and if I am on lengthy bus or luas journeys which is a lot of the time lately I always have a book with me.

I hardly read at all any more. Partly because I'm on here more often and partly because since I need reading glasses, I find it less easy to read in bed.

I have plenty of books in my "to read "pile but haven't opened them for ages.

We certainly do, there are piles of books beside our bed. We take them on holiday, too.

I read all the time, on the train to and from work, before bed, at the weekends, and sometimes if I'm particularly engrossed I will read on my lunch break at work rather than fart around on the computer. My latest thing is crime novels from Sweden/Norway/Denmark etc... they're very good. I've been toying with the kindle idea but I just can't get my head around it, I like books, I like to turn the pages, and I like to put them on shelves and keep them, I both love and hate the idea of a kindle.

I always read a book when I go to bed, can't sleep without reading first. Is kindle better than e-books? I'm thinking of getting one.

Voracious reader, mostly in bed before dropping off. Can't get to sleep without having had a read. Also read on buses. Mainly like crime fiction but have bought a couple of books recommended on here. Thought about a kindle but you can't beat the feel and smell of a book - even an old one which is a bit musty.

I make the most of both worlds CD. The kindle has the advantage of allowing me to carry around lots of books easily. I also ready "real books" especially in French and Italian but my shelves are running out of space. I have just read my first Jo Nesbo (on kindle) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I read a lot, love autobiographies, thrillers, classic novels. You can't beat a good book.

Read with my nieces and thoroughly enjoy a good children's book with them, especially as we take a character each and try to do their "voices". One of the girls is now so good she tends to show up our efforts. You have a good point though sandy as there are too many distractions to booklovers.

Kindles are great because they enable you to take as many books as you like with you wherever you go, but having a kindle doesn't stop you reading 'real books'. It's not a 'one or the other' choice. It offers the best of both worlds.

Like many others, I read before I go to sleep too, but never novels because novels need to be read in chunks and I can't stay awake for long enough to read 'chunks'. For me it's always religion, philosophy, etc. Yeah, I know. Weird! No surprise I fall asleep quickly, eh? :o)

Oh I love to read... Sometimes I get so engrosed in a book I can't sleep! I love my kindle too. If I had to do without one or the other (tv v book) I'd choose books anyday.
