home alone for Christmas Day and if so, how do you feel?

I had my reasons one year for spending most of Christmas Day on my own - I had family round at teatime but I liked the solitude. I know this was me and not those who have lost loved ones, and I understand their not wanting a solitary day - but if the circumstances are right, it can be nice.
