"Device to bind up hay without a motor initially" (6) -m-l-m. Looks like amylum but can't see where hay comes into it. Also "See trailers-perhaps with these (5) l-a-s. Looks like leads or loads but not sure which or why. Any help appreciated.

2 LOADS - see = LO, trailers = ADS
1 EMBLEM [device]

bind up hay without a = EMB(a)LE
motor initially = M
Question Author
Thanks bibblebub-on the ball as usual! Any idea about the other?
is there a 3rd clue?
LO is an old word for 'see' or 'look' - think 'and lo the angel blah'

ADS is trailers, as in cinema trailers
Question Author
Sorry Bibblebub. I submitted my reply to you just as you were sending the "hay"answer. Still struggling to work emblem out-it obviously is that and I can now see bale minus the "a"and the "m"at the end but can't see the "em"at the beginning
Question Author
Have just seen Embale as a word for binding up hay! Doh!! Thanks again
to bind up hay is EMBALE
without a means remove the a from that to get EMBLE
and the final M comes from 'Motor initially'
oops, cross-postings again
Question Author
Often happens but thanks once again bibble
