I've lived through 9/11, a major head-line accident and a number of serious hurricanes and seen devastation of assets and personal pain. Nothing though could prepare anyone to what has happened in Sendai and environs.

My sympathies to the Japanese people and my admiration for the dignified way you have conducted yourselves throughout this horror and the stoicism you have shown. You are an example to us all in the face of such suffering.
We all reach times in our lives when no human help is available or when the help humans offer is not sufficient for our needs. Then it is to God alone that we must turn. However, if we love God and appreciate the privilege of prayer we certainly will not wait for such occasions to speak to him. Instead, we will approach him regularly, frequently, with expressions of thanksgiving and praise, as well as with our petitions and requests. (Ephesians 6:18)
