Turned out he did this to make some money and she not only traced him but countless siblings. This struck me as sad that so many women decided they wanted a child but not a partner or father for the child. I had a difficult relationship with my father who is now departed, but I at least knew him and he was always there. So sorry to read your story Daffy.
My dad was a good man he loved the family life, but never showed it much or told us. He didn't go out drinking he stayed at home each night, and worked all day, and we had everything any family wanted, except it was unexciting. We were respectful and no trouble, but we were 'there'. They were so busy providing the home and comforts that they forgot about the love. On the other hand another father I know of went out drinking, rolling home drunk every night, working to pay for the drink, not to support his large family. But the children forgot about that part of his life when he died.
