Was the keeper in order to repeatedly kick this yob while he was on the floor.

Should he have been given a red card, and should the match have been abandoned?

The thug should be locked up, and the goalie should have anger management lessons...................

How on earth can anyone condone the goalies actions of violence when on another thread they are braying for John Terry's blood for using abusive language to another player - is assumed racial language worse than violence?
I love the commentary on the cricket one..........hahaha

"He only kicked the guy twice when he was on the floor, hardly excessive in my opinion."

Heck - I'd hate to be on the receiving end of your perception of 'excessive' then dafft654!

I have a sliding scale of what constitutes 'excessive' in terms of kicking another person - on the ground or not. it starts at '0' - anything after that is deemed excessive as far as I can see.
I'm not usually a violent person but this man was happy to dish out the violence so shouldn't complain when someone does the same to him.
It's not a matter of the perpatrator complaining or not that I have an issue with daffy - it's whether we as spectators think that such retaliation is acceptable, and in my view it is not.
One for AOG to get his teeth into, seeing he is on form elsewhere this afternoon.

Bear in mind its a kid's game

A bit more to add to this:

Not that its to be condoned but apparently the goal keeper had been "intimate" with the attackers girlfriend.
Ryan Giggs and John Terry need to watch their backs then this weekend.
DTcrossword doesnt know dick about this game.

Simply put,the AZ Alkamaar goalie, would reasonably expect safety from crowd interference...the fault would therefore lie with Ajax Amsterdam Security and Club.

Imo,the Red Card was unfair.
It was violent conduct,but...not part of the game, which the Referee was presiding over.
