New Blue Disabled Driver's Badge.

How will these new badges be of any help to the genuine disabled driver?

The present badge is not hand written on a piece of card as reported, it is a printed document, with a photograph of it's holder on it and enclosed in plastic.

What the authorities should be clamping down on is the ease some are able to acquire these badges, the use by others who are not the holder of the badges, and those that illegally park in disabled drivers spaces, etc,

What also amusers me however is the fact that some blue badge holders, park in the supermarket disabled spaces, which are in close proximity to the entrance of the supermarket and then are able to walk around the supermarket for close on a hour doing their shopping.

If they are fit enough to do that then surely they shouldn't hold a disabled blue badge.

hc4361,People can give me the "Evil Eye" as much as they want,it really p!sses them off when you smile at them,if they want my Disability they can have it.

I am no longer going to post on this subject, taking into consideration that I am myself a disabled blue badge holder, who cannot walk more than a few yards, yet still I am being personally criticised and in some cases actually threatened with criminal attack, just for asking certain non-abusive questions.

A typical one being;

I have reported this abuse to the Ed hoping that he will take the necessary action to get this ABer suspended from this site.

has the op improved your hip china? I have a similar problem along with sciatica, I use a walking stick somedays and find standing and moving my upperbody at the same time for long periods excruciating

It is a bit late now that postdog is suspended and I am sure he does not need an apologist but maybe just maybe his discomfort and frustration regarding his brain tumour, the recent failed operation and the wait for the next op, tipped him over the edge.

Not defending the comments simply trying to understand.

I can understand postdogs point of view, maybe he could have been less aggressive but having followed his health problems for the last year I really feel for him x

i agree they really need to sort out who gets them in the first place and how they are used after that!

but i also agree that there is more to some disabilities than wheelchair use or limping ...

people will never understand how a person is suffering and feel what pain he/she has until they have the same problems

i understand how postdog feels as i have a brain tumour to,i do have a blue badge,when i go to the supermarket i need to use a disabled scooter otherwise i have to shop elsewhere

Just seen your post caz... I had a cortisone injection in to my hip on 23rd but had been suffering again about a month or two previously, it got quite bad to the point where it felt more or less like it did before the op. Hopefully it just got irritated when I started going back to the gym and the cortisone will settle it down, otherwise they've already said they'd need re-operate. Fingers fully crossed for the cortisone miracle!
