I genuinely have no idea what point you are trying to make with the comments re a gathering of atheists, or the comments about footballers crossing themselves or celebrities thanking god for their success - Could you please say in terms that even the simple- minded like me can understand what it is you are trying to say?
I thought it sounded like Goodlife was making more sense than usual. It is a good point. Why to people only thank God for good things but don't blame God for the bad?
Indeed God claims that everything bad in the world is man's mistakes. It is remarkably similar to living in an abusive relationship where the abuser will make their dependent victim responsible for everything that goes wrong.
In fact here is an excellent argument that details the extensive similarities of an abusinve relationship and the Christian relationship with God.

The thought of relationship coming under God’s rule is becoming detestable to more and more millions of people today. To their minds it brings the thought of theocracy, which is really what God’s rule means. But to many of those persons who revolt at the idea of God’s rule, theocracy makes them think of corrupt, oppressive rule by immoral, greedy, self-seeking, totalitarian religious priests and clergymen, who demand the absolute, unquestioning obedience of all mankind and who demand also their money under the cloak of false religious pretenses. For many centuries Europe had such a so-called theocracy run by priestcraft.
Yes,Not for all though Surely, you have seen or heard about all of these things—international conflicts eclipsing former wars, great earthquakes, widespread pestilences and food shortages, hatred and persecution of Christ’s followers, an increase of lawlessness, and critical times of unsurpassed magnitude. Besides these things, the Bible foretells that God will “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18) And humans are ruining the earth right now!
One Scientists, said: “This warning is no exaggeration, and it is not alarmist.” One newspaper article reported: “The list of 1,575 scientists who drafted the warning reads like a who’s who in the international scientific community.” Their warning of complete ruination for our earth is not to be ignored!

Hundreds of millions of men and women own a copy of the Bible. But there is a difference between owning a Bible and loving God’s Word. Can a person rightly claim to love God’s Word if he seldom reads it? In contrast, some who once had little regard for the Bible now read it every day. They have learned to love God’s Word, and like the psalmist, they now make God’s Word their concern “all day long.”—Psalm 119:97
