Goa
Fancy a holiday in Goa. It appears that November is a good time to go weatherwise i.e.hot but not humid or wet. We usually make our own holiday travel arrangements as we like a private villa with a private pool. Have been searching on the web but as yet have not been able to find this type of accommodation. Does anyone know of any private villas in Goa?

Goa is a fantastic place to visit but remember that India is a developing country and therefore there are few of the things you may be used to such as pavements, street lighting, private villas and anything more modern than the 1960s.
Expect very basic but clean accomodation, cattle roaming the streets and beaches, slow airport procedure and the best food that we have had on our travels (and it only costs pennies).
In the south it is quieter with high class hotel complexes but we prefer the north as there is a lot more going on and better value for money.
Best deals are packages as flights can be expensive. Recommend Jewel in the crown holidays and the Dona Alcina hotel in Candolim.(best pool)
Great place if you just relax and go with the flow.
Thanks so much for your answers. Really appreciated. We did wonder whether it was wise in this instance to do our "own thing" and you have helped us to decide not to do that this time. We will search for a complex where we have our own private bungalow but share a pool. These must be available I assume. It is good to hear someone's personal experiences Auto-tecnica, rather than the brochures' blurbs. Thanks again
