Need advice on property left in a Will
11 Answers
My Father is very elderly with failing health. He owns a 4 bedroom house left to my Brother and myself in his Will. However, my Brothers daughter (21) is homeless at the moment as she was in rented accom with a child and partner but they cannot afford the rent and Council list is a very long wait. They are both a pair of lazy layabouts and will do nothing to help my Father in his home. (He is probably even giving them money). I feel they are trying to make themselves comfortable and are looking to stay there forever. My Brother wont have anything said against them (obviously he sees no wrong). I am a tad peed off with it. Are they entitled to any of the property as tenants if anything should happen to my Father?

I doubt if it would be the right to stay in the property rent free - more likely an order it be sold and they receive part of the proceeds
But it will be difficult to get them out, yes

The thing is qwerty, it's really only up to your father who he has in his house, likewise who he leaves his money/ property to. I'm not trying to take sides here but it's just something he has to deal with. Only IF he leaves you anything in his will, will you really have any input and as someone else says he might well change it perhaps in their favour if they all get along- it's fairly irrelevant what you or anyone else thinks about them, at the moment it's just your father's opinion that counts..
