I get the impression that the characters have been told to make it plain that they think mammy is the funniest thing ever or they'll be fired. They have a wild look in their eyes when they laugh.

I don't watch it. I saw the first one and thought it was terrible. I now see bits of it if my mum's watching. It's safe to say it hasn't improved.

It's great comedy and I love it - @ douglas9401 though, I think you are wrong. I believe a lot of 'Mrs Brown's' jokes are ad-libbed and unexpected, hence you find the cast often laughing at 'her' rather than having been told she is the funniest and they must laugh. The audience laugh's speak for itself.
