Walk on the wild side
12 Answers
Got my Asda shopping coming tomorrow and I have opted for substitutions - I know how to have a wild time! (Usually, they might not have three or four things, wonder if they go a bit mental when they are allowed to use substitutions and can just chuck anything into the shopping.)

Once you've done it a few times you build up a shopping list and if you buy roughly the same stuff every week then it takes no time at all. It also let's you see deals that you might miss in the shop (well, I would). You also get to see how much you are actually spending.
A bit of Googling suggests that you could be in for some fun, Sherrardk ;-)

"Online shopping forums reveal experiences of dodgy substitutions from supermarkets. Some replacements make no sense at all. Dairylea instead of lychees (lie cheese?). Headache tablets instead of dishwasher tablets. A pack of nappies to replace 12 toilet rolls. And possibly the worst substitution of all - a pack of Twix bars instead of Tampax."

Didn't someone (sara3?) get their turkey subbed two days before Christmas :+()
I'm a habitual Aldi shopper, but when I need to stock up on stuff Aldi don't sell I tend to use Ocado (waiting until they bribe me with a 20% off voucher).
They have realtime stock checking & I've yet to have anything missing or subbed - and if you book 'unpopular' times you can usually get free delivery too.

I do an online shop avery few months when my mum isnt here to help me with the kids! Last one was before Christmas from Asda when my LO was ill and I ordered the kids ibuprofen. They sent adult ibuprofen liquid tablets doh. And they didnt have any goose fat lol. I much prefer picking the items myself but when needs must its ok!
